Technical Archtecture & Design
Technical architecture work begins as early as possible in case there is any equipment that must be acquired for the solution. We must consult with your information technology division to understand your preferred technology standards and investments, what can leveraged, and how the proposed solution can contribute to the enterprise standards for future projects. Shared investments and re-enforcement of standards across the enterprise will best serve the project in the long run. Shared standards and investments enable cross training technical staff, getting better prices for equipment and software licenses, and sharing lessons learned. Sometimes the client prefers to include the all or a portion of the functional specification in the design document. Other work products in the Design include:
-
Component model and application architecture
-
Class diagram (includes the objects and methods that support the components)
-
Database Schema
-
System Architecture
-
Development Environment and standards (desktop and server-based)
-
Test environment configuration
-
Production environment configuration
-
Interface specifications
